Crake — born Marat, the same person — leads the rebellion against the vrakhiri: the Manumits. He is charismatic but trusts almost no one; his confidence is earned, and it does not come cheap.

His quest chain

Crake anchors the second ally chain — the longer of the two: The Firebrand, Shadows in the Woods, Where Loyalty Lies, What Hunts the Night, What Moves the Dead, Who Pulls the Strings, Rise at Dawn, and Fall Before Dusk. It runs alongside Lacra’s route, and both can be completed in a single run.

Crake gates the kingmaker route
Supporting Crake and the Manumits through the final mission Fall Before Dusk (after Rise at Dawn) is what Knyazmaker requires: the power behind the throne rather than ruler or victim.

Where he leads

Crake’s chain is the human side of the war and the ally route the Knyazmaker ending hangs on. See the key choice timeline and the all endings reference for the full picture, and the key characters compendium for the rest of the cast.
